Energy Balls

I ran across some people in a workshop recently to whom the idea of holding a ball of energy in their hands was a foreign concept. “Where do you buy it?” asked one. And “Will it shock me?” queried another.

No, no, no, dear lambs, this kind of energy cannot be bought and being as it comes from your own body’s interactions with your environment, it cannot shock you.

This is a simple pre-requisite to any healing or personal growth and a fundamental tool in Doing The Impossible – learning how to create, manipulate and move energy.

Here’s how you do it:

1) Hold your palms flat together in prayer position. Feel the heat of each palm as it touches the other.

2) Pull your palms apart, and feel the air where it touches your hand. Notice the temperature.

3) Now briskly rub your hands together to generate friction heat.

4) Slowly pull your hands apart, still feeling the heat. Stop when you can no longer feel the heat and move your hands together again until you feel a slight tension, or greater heat. This is energy.

5) The energy is there whether you rub your hands together or not, but creating friction heat will help you to recognize this energy in the beginning stages.

Energy can feel like a tug, heat, cold, a tickle, tingle or something completely different. One of my students says it feels like the fur of her cat, another that it feels like the frost on a mug of beer on a cold day. Your perceptions will be unique to you. Honor them

6) Now that you can feel the energy, begin rolling it into a ball as you would clay or bread dough.

7) If you lose the sense of heat, you can always rub your hands together again.

8) Play with the ball, turning it around and around in your hands. Notice where the ball begins to feel less distinct and where you can feel it the most strongly.

9) Now focus on making the ball feel more solid. Concentrate your thoughts on making it more and more “there”. What makes it feel more solid for you? Take note.

10) Now pull your hands apart an inch or two. The ball may go a little indistinct again. Spend a little more time firming it up. Keep pulling your hands apart until you can comfortably feel the ball with hands several feet apart.

That’s it! You’ve created a ball of unqualified energy. Right now, it’s just energy, waiting for a job to do. You can intend that it heal, enliven, promote growth or any other intention you want to place on it.

Note that only SOME people doing this exercise will actually see anything. You may or may not see anything but don’t disparage yourself  if you don’t.

EFT Tapping For Trauma Relief

I wanted to create a few videos on EFT tapping for Trauma relief for my Healing4Haiti project, but realized, my gosh, they’re already out there! Here’s a survey of several, with no endorsement for these practitioners but giving thanks for what they’ve put out.

The first, from the master himself, Gary Craig – and boy, what a great clip this is – followed by a very interesting video on dissolving the freeze response. Then in the lower set of videos, more addressing specific traumas. The first one of these goes out especially to my extended family, though we can all make use of this young man’s story of clearing a heavy authoritarian figure’s harshness. Tap along as you watch, and your own issues, whatever they are, will resolve as well. Keep tapping, it does work!  :-)

Contemplating something very big…

Since Thanksgiving of last year, I’ve been contemplating something very big. Quite out of the ordinary and not what you might expect but…I seem to specialize in doing things not the way everyone expects and with the most amazing outcomes no one could have predicted.

In fact, you could say doing the unexpected is something of a brand identity. ;-)

I’m going on an adventure, that expresses every single one of the Bliss Keys.

For my fiftieth birthday…

And quite by myself…

Somewhere far away where English is not spoken so often…

And adventures, history, romance abound.

I couldn’t talk about it until now because I didn’t know if it would come together.

But this is an adventure I want to take you on. An adventure we can have together, no matter where you are.

Initially I wanted to take my five best girlfriends and ship all of us out on a cruise of the Greek islands for my 50th. But one by one those friends have dropped by the wayside in myriad of no-fault ways that were nothing more than just growing apart with different agendas.

Now I have new girlfriends who are even cooler and more hip to what I’m into, but I really get that this timeperiod is about me and me alone. Stepping into Unlimited Self it is all so clear, so easy…

to set aside an epochal moment to savor first and alone…
to suck the marrow out of
and grow new wings…
to fly boldly into the unknown,
shrieking with wild, ecstatic laughter
to harvest the burgundy-currant juice of deep wisdom
to savor the clarity, aliveness and precious living in each and every day.

Stay tuned, there will be more. Now that the decision is made, watch what unfolds…

It’s thrilling to be on the precipice of something new and amazing.

In tribute to the Maturing of an Energy Therapy: EFT

If you’re an old hand, you’ll still enjoy this “spiritual documentary” (a la “The Secret”) style introduction to what EFT can do, and features some of my most esteemed colleagues. EFT Works Great for Pain

I know. I used it to help me end years of chronic pain from a broken back, and to heal those tissues and  even grow new bone. Oh yes, you really can. EFT is a really great introduction to energy magic for people of all ages, cultures and belief systems. Pass this one on too. You can use a sophisticated Energy Coaching technique called “Borrowing Benefits” to tap along with Gary here as the pain is tapped out. Just think of your own pain for a moment, then let it go and use the lady’s set-up phrasing and reminder phrases. Tap right along. Get over it.

This one is from Robert Smith. He’s a wonderfully intuitive EFT practitioner and teacher. Beautiful NLP related interventions and submodality shifting for you NLPers in the community. Enjoy this video and especially if you had back pain like I did, this will be a welcome relief. Can KIDS do EFT? You bet’cha! (they’re a lot smarter than we are, y’know?)

I’ve taught children young as four how to tap with EFT and though I don’t have one, I highly recommend a Tappy Bear.  (I turned my childhood bear into such a happy tapping guide a few years ago) They’re the BOMB for teaching EFT to kids! Enjoy this wonderful video from Karin Gustafson teaching a little boy how to tap with a homemade tapping bear. The giggles alone are worth listening – and Borrowing Benefits – through the whole video. For those who don’t resonate to “I’m a good boy” – “I’m okay and feel grrrrreat!” is a good substitute.

The Happy Pill Process

Some Bliss Coaching Questions to get you to “Woo!” if you’re “Bleah.”

1)  Is your hair on fire/is the world ending/is my life in danger this very second? If no, and you have food in your belly, a roof over your head and clothes on your back, you do not have a problem. Use your choice of calming methods from awareness meditation to yoga to bring yourself back to center, and out of stress response.

2) How would you rather feel? Once you’ve breathed yourself back down to okay again, no matter what else might be going on, you have a choice as to how you wish to feel about it. Choose that feeling now. Write it down. Some folks like to write a cue word to this much-more-resourceful state on their hand or a post-it attached to their purse or backpack. Put it in someplace accessible that you’ll see many times as you go through your day.

Try for one word as your “rather feel this way” reminder, instead of a phrase.One of the things I’ve found in my work with clients and large groups is that the simpler you make something, the more deeply it goes and the greater the possibility for communities and whole geographical regions that can come to be able to feel this way, simply because you are putting your intentions out there.

A great tip to make it all easier and more joyful:

Condensing to the essence adds greatly to your personal power.

Look at this word throughout the day to remind yourself of how you’d rather feel. Remember the last time you felt this way and fully flesh out that memory. Say “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, YES!” to confirm to yourself you Really. Wanna. Feel that way.

Now step into that feeling. Mmm…

3) Now make another choice: What generative energy, space and consciousness do you want to be and manifest today? Choose that, write it down in the air in letters of flame or whatever color and shape please you. See the letters fade out. Breathe in and out. Remember what you wrote. Go, and remember it throughout the day.

How do you feel now? Remember that, the next time upset and “things appearing like danger but really, when you think about it… aren’t.” threatens.

Keep breathing in your reminder word – how you’d rather feel. And remembering what you choose to generate, how you wish to be and what you will manifest today.

Get rid of stuffed or running nose without drugs

Nasal congestion, stuffy nose, runny nose – these are common problems experienced by everyone, usually many times a year. We generally disregard it, if it’s on moderate levels but can get very annoyed when they are strong and require our attentions.

Yes, you could use a nasal spray to depress it for a while. But there are some problems with the sprays:

  • First, they are drugs (chemicals), might have side effects and are somewhat addictive.
  • Second, they cost money.
  • Third, you should have it with you whenever your nose drives you mad. This might not be the case every time, since you have to buy it first, and then carry it with you whenever you go (work, for example).

When I was little, one of my grandmothers has taught my father and me a very simple point massage technique that relieves nasal congestion fast and effectively, without leaving the bitter taste in your mouth. I wanted to share it with you….

Make Love, Not War. How You Can Help

At this point in time, many people aren’t having that great an experience of life.

The economy sucks, jobs are lost, relationships are suffering and affordable healthcare seems like a dream. And everyone dislikes some aspect of their life. Thighs and hips are still top the list, followed by jobs, spouses, the economy, personal problems and concerns about our kids.

People are really focusing on the negative, even meditators and therapists I’ve known for years to be the voice of good cheer.

And we wonder why there’s fighting in the world!

LOVE YOUR LIFE TIP #1:

I’ve been teaching this for years but never has it been more important for us to really GET:

“What you give A.I.R. – Your Attention, Your Intention and Repetition – LIVES. And what you give your attention, and intention to repetitively, will manifest more and more in your life.”

Like the flab on your thighs, the dwindling balance in your bank account, how horrible your relationship is, etc. It’s really just that simple. But people don’t get it, and keep paying attention to the bad, not the good in their lives.

(it was a “duh!” moment when I realized this)

One way you can realize when you’re doing this is an old trick from behavioral psychology. Loop a rubber bandaround your wrist and snap it every time you catch yourself thinking negatively. It will soon insert a “pause” in your process where you can choose. A choice you could make given the previous example might be: “Do I want to dwell on how horrible it is to be fat, or will I take a walk and think about how wonderful my thighs will feel when they NO LONGER rub together?”

This simple process inserts Choice, and gives the monkey-mind that tends to fix on negative things, a pleasant and positive alternative. Just keep feeling the air between your thighs, or seeing that gold gleaming in your bank account, or whatever it is that really turns you on when you think about it.

People need those kind of alternatives.

That’s why I want your help to Spread Love to End War as a grass-roots people’s movement.

Let me explain:

Doesn’t it stand to reason, that if we stop fighting ourselves internally, and learn to love ourselves really well, and spend more of our time in a state of supreme bliss, that we’ll be less warlike as a planet?

That’s my goal, because I know that if you love yourself well, you become a beacon to spread that love out to others who don’t have as many happy resources inside themselves.

And what happens when one center of love spreads the love outward? Other people start loving themselves! And outward it spreads, as a movement.

Like a virus, exuding love is infectious. People get happy just being around you!

Isn’t that COOL?

That’s why I’m bringing it back home with these tips, and in sharing more deeply on in our Love Your Life Again Class.

When you learn to love all of you, 100%, even your thighs, and your boss and your bank balance, those things CHANGE. Did you know that? Extra coolness.

Here’s another important tip on how to feel good. I think you’ll find it easy and even enjoyable to implement, to help you, and everyone around you to spread the Love virus:

If we know the right questions to ask, we open up even more possibilities for happiness, in.come, relationship goodness, and other things you may be seeking. Here’s an absolute barn-burner of a question to ask – and not be attached to any answer or outcome of:

“What generative energy, space and consciousness can I be to manifest ______________?”

Fill in the blank with the SOLUTION you’re wanting – NOT the problem.

Then say: “Anything that wouldn’t allow that to happen, I uncreate, dissolve and release it completely”. Take in a big breath, blow it out, and let it all go.

Then, super-power this affirmation, with the ETHOS Method cues and step aside into your Unlimited Self where these problems don’t exist. You also might wish to use the One-Point acuhold if you respond best to meridian energy work.

Loving Your Life Again

bliss_sleeping_womanThere’s nothing for revealing the truth like a chat with a girlfriend. I was talking this summer to my bookkeeper and gal pal Paula about how much we loved our lives and why others we knew didn’t. Paula said to me “You know Maryam, people just want to feel good about themselves. But in this economy, and with all the violence going on in the world, they just don’t. What can we do to help people out?”

Why don’t people love their lives? It’s a question that has driven many of us (me included) into therapy, coaching, spiritual studies and years of self-examination. For many here, it’s what has driven us to divorce, separation and anxiety-driven lifestyles.

We talked some more about how much of what appears in our lives is illusory, and how people sometimes buy into illusions that make them miserable. People are going through some very hard times caused by those illusions right now and misery is widespread. The rough truth of this caught my attention – this is something I can help with, I thought.

I examined my life to determine why, other than the obvious,I loved my life when many with far more in the way of possessions and prestige seemed so miserable. I came to some valuable conclusions that I wanted to share with you, as I believe just examining these issues in your life can make you so much happier. I am presenting these as coaching questions for you to use alone or with a mastermind partner or coaching buddy, and to pass on to those whose happiness you care about.

Powerful Coaching Questions
To Start Loving Your Life Again

1)  If you shed the false illusions you live under, you’ll be a lot happier. An example of a false illusion might be “If s/he falls in love with me, my life will be perfect.” That makes YOUR emotional state dependent on the whims of someone else. Who may never fall in love with you, or if they do, may turn out to be a nightmare.

Same thing goes with “When I win the lottery, I’ll finally be happy” or “When the divorce finally comes through I’ll be happy”. Why wait? Choose to be happy today, regardless! Happiness is available to both princess and pauper. What we think of as externally-created emotions are ALL self-generated chemical combinations cooked up inside your own body. YOU have the power to change your emotional state simply by choosing what you want. So ask yourself: “What is True about this situation?” All of it? None of it? 15% of it?

What is yours, take responsibility for and change. What comes from someone else, give back.

To do that, ask of unwanted emotions: “Who does this belong to?”  Is the illusion self-created, or another person’s that you’ve bought into? Women are tremendously sensitive to energy. Oftentimes the angst, sudden anger or even menstrual cramps you’re feeling don’t really belong to you, but come from your neighbor next door or a stranger you passed in a crowd.

Our bodies are giant tuning mechanisms for Radio Station Y-O-U. What you give the most attention to in your thoughts will broadcast outward energetically and will attract back to you similar emotions, situations and people. One of the things your body does naturally is to “pick up” other people’s broadcasts of negative emotions, pain, or symptoms. This too is an illusion, because these feelings aren’t really yours. Asking “who does this belong to” helps you realize – and drop – other’s expectations and energy.

2)  You don’t need to know the answer to any of these questions, just keep asking them and the change will happen. If you learn to live in the question, without hardening and fixing your expectations around “the one true answer”, you’ll be happier because answers come more abundantly. Bellyaching about how bad things are or saying “this is just the way it is and there’s no point in hoping for better” only keeps you in the rut you’re in.

When you say “I wonder what it would take to start my own business?” instead of griping about not having one, you free yourself to go find out what it would take, get funding if necessary, study up for professional exams and so on. Use “I wonder what it would take…” to defuse the natural human tendency to gravitate towards the negative.

3) If we know the right questions to ask, we open up even more possibilities for happiness than ever before. Here’s an absolute barn-burner of a question to ask – and not be attached to any answer or outcome of:

“What generative energy, space and consciousness can I be to manifest ______________?”

Fill in the blank with the SOLUTION you’re wanting – NOT the problem.

Then say: “Anything that wouldn’t allow that to happen, I uncreate, dissolve and release it completely” and let it go.
