Forms May Change…

Monday, October 26th, 2009 by Maryam Webster

the bridge to consciousness

What is that furrow
on your brow,
a sigh of sorrow
imprinted on the skin?
What clings sullen
to the bone,
contracting your heart?

What do you fear,
have horror of,
long to forget,
despise and loathe
so much

that it leaves its
convoluted intent
on the roadmap
of your face?

And more importantly,
what do you REALLY desire?

Think on that and know:

That nothing is truly wrong.

Nothing is truly required of you,

but to live and be happy.

What is meant for you can never truly be lost,
because nothing can actually be lost.

Lost is a point of view,
a Limiting Belief.

Though forms may change,
everything always exists
for energy cannot be destroyed.

What is meant for you is still right in front of you.

Have you the eyes to see it?

Have you the ears to hear its message?

Have you the heart to feel its

fresh,

pure,

delicious energy…

pulling you forward?

If not…

Step aside,

into the Real You

and continue the journey.

* Travelogue: Been fueled on inspiration from the stunning Oregonian waterfalls this week on our tour of the Pacific Northwest. I snapped the above picture at Multnomah Falls prior to a hike where we got ecstatically drenched. The words rolled out during an intro on ETHOS that I taught in a community center shortly after that.  “Stepping aside” is ETHOS speak for stepping back inside our Unlimited Self – that energetic template of the ‘perfect you’ that we all started out in life, and that is still available to us. The ETHOS Method is a free, worldwide healing and consciousness tool that I created, and you can learn more about here.

Make Love, Not War. How You Can Help

Friday, September 11th, 2009 by Maryam Webster

“You are Love, You are Loved and You are Loving”
- d. deLarm, the Missouri sweet medicine man

At this point in time, many people aren’t having that great an experience of life.

The economy sucks, jobs are lost, relationships are suffering and affordable healthcare seems like a dream. And everyone dislikes some aspect of their life. Thighs and hips are still top the list, followed by jobs, spouses, the economy, personal problems and concerns about our kids.

People are really focusing on the negative, even meditators and therapists I’ve known for years to be the voice of good cheer.

And we wonder why there’s fighting in the world!

LOVE YOUR LIFE TIP #1:

I’ve been teaching this for years but never has it been more important for us to really GET:

“What you give A.I.R. – Your Attention, Your Intention and Repetition – LIVES. And what you give your attention, and intention to repetitively, will manifest more and more in your life.”

Like the flab on your thighs, the dwindling balance in your bank account, how horrible your relationship is, etc. It’s really just that simple. But people don’t get it, and keep paying attention to the bad, not the good in their lives.

(it was a “duh!” moment when I realized this)

One way you can realize when you’re doing this is an old trick from behavioral psychology. Loop a rubber bandaround your wrist and snap it every time you catch yourself thinking negatively. It will soon insert a “pause” in your process where you can choose. A choice you could make given the previous example might be: “Do I want to dwell on how horrible it is to be fat, or will I take a walk and think about how wonderful my thighs will feel when they NO LONGER rub together?”

This simple process inserts Choice, and gives the monkey-mind that tends to fix on negative things, a pleasant and positive alternative. Just keep feeling the air between your thighs, or seeing that gold gleaming in your bank account, or whatever it is that really turns you on when you think about it.

People need those kind of alternatives.

That’s why I want your help to Spread Love to End War as a grass-roots people’s movement.

Let me explain:

Doesn’t it stand to reason, that if we stop fighting ourselves internally, and learn to love ourselves really well, and spend more of our time in a state of supreme bliss, that we’ll be less warlike as a planet?

That’s my goal, because I know that if you love yourself well, you become a beacon to spread that love out to others who don’t have as many happy resources inside themselves.

And what happens when one center of love spreads the love outward? Other people start loving themselves! And outward it spreads, as a movement.

Like a virus, exuding love is infectious. People get happy just being around you!

Isn’t that COOL?

That’s why I’m bringing it back home with these tips, and in sharing more deeply on in our Love Your Life Again Class.

When you learn to love all of you, 100%, even your thighs, and your boss and your bank balance, those things CHANGE. Did you know that? Extra coolness.

Here’s another important tip on how to feel good. I think you’ll find it easy and even enjoyable to implement, to help you, and everyone around you to spread the Love virus:

LOVE YOUR LIFE TIP #2:

If we know the right questions to ask, we open up even more possibilities for happiness, in.come, relationship goodness, and other things you may be seeking. Here’s an absolute barn-burner of a question to ask – and not be attached to any answer or outcome of:

“What generative energy, space and consciousness can I be to manifest ______________?”

Fill in the blank with the SOLUTION you’re wanting – NOT the problem.

Then say: “Anything that wouldn’t allow that to happen, I uncreate, dissolve and release it completely”. Take in a big breath, blow it out, and let it all go.

Then, super-power this affirmation, with the ETHOS Method cues and step aside into your Unlimited Self where these problems don’t exist. You also might wish to use the One-Point acuhold if you respond best to meridian energy work.

If you have difficulty letting things go, want to join a Master Class in The ETHOS Method, or just want more support, love & joy in your life, please join us for the “Love Your Life Again” class. I promise, you’ll come out of this month-long class changed in ways that will delight you!

This material is literally changing people’s lives. I taught a large chunk of it last year in my three month 12 Keys To Bliss program, and am committed to EVERYONE having the same result as Sandy did in that class. She says:

“I want to give this class and Maryam a resounding testimonial!
I thought I was happy. I had a great life, good marriage, great
kids. But was I really blissful? When I thought about it I had to
admit no I wasn’t. I signed up more out of curiosity to improve
my life and got SO much more than I expected! It changed my life
for the better in many, many ways. I learned great techniques and
tools to set us on our path that I can use for the rest of my
life, that I can help my kids, teach my clients. They were easy &
simple to learn yet lifechanging and profound. I’m very very
grateful and happy that I’ve taken this class. Every day I enjoy
my life more and don’t feel life is passing me by.  I’m living my
life to the fullest!”

Until next time, I wish you that same happiness and bliss – each and every day. Spread it around!

Got Fear? Get Help, here.

FDRFranklin Delano Roosevelt seen at right and commonly referred to as FDR, was the 32nd President of the United States. That’s for the folks who seem to have missed being taught about New Deals I and II, and the Great Depression. I’m finding suprisingly  many who seemed to have skipped this bit of history in school. And while I was not personally alive during the Depression, my parents were. Their generation’s experience formed how I viewed money for most of my life, as it did for many who are alive right now.

And now the same thing is happening again. Many people are finding themselves tweaked by moments of sheer panic, ongoing worry and sudden terror at what’s happening.

FDR’s inauguration on March 4, 1933 occurred in the middle of a bank panic, such as we are experiencing today. Banks closing right and left and no idea if or when they’d be opening again. Folks losing their houses, mass weirdness ensuing.

Upon this backdrop, FDR uttered these ten famous words:

"The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself".

The full quote, from the first paragraph of his inaugural address is this:

"..This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance…"

Unjustified terror. Unjustified.

Do you hear that part of the speech? Roosevelt is absolutely right. Fear never grew a crop or fattened a wallet. Fear on this level just consumes your available energy and ties up the rest in paralysis.

I’ve heard this clip played countless times and prefer to believe that FDR believed what he was saying, and spoke from his deep knowing that the world always turns around again and new opportunities present themselves. FDF had a distinctive voice, and it roused rich and poor to rally ’round their communities, and make the present better than all perceived it was.

dustbowl abandoned farmWe are not in a Depression, though many have labelled it that. In the 1920′s, there was a real economic downturn, marked by its term "The Great Depression". Great sections of the prairieland midwest turned into dusty deserts as agricultural conditions too deteriorated, and crops could not be grown – the economic vying with the geological and climatic to provide an experience of total disaster. People starved to death. Entire families in this society perished, or were forced to debase themselves for food at any price.

Read Steinbeck’s Of Mice And Men for a candy-coated version. "Candy-coated" was what my mother said (snorted) when I brought the book home from high school English to find Mom making Snickerdoodles. "Steinbeck my foot!" Mom fumed "That wasn’t the half of it honey, not the half of it. That’s the candy-coated version." She continued to pat cookies into measured rounds, but this time with a vengeance that flatted them to cinnamon-sugar shingles. And refused to say more of what she had witnessed.

We are at most in 2008, in a "mini-Depression". People are making some difficult choices, but the average family is not on the brink of imminent starvation, though many have lost their homes.

And many of us are succumbing to fear about it. But fear never helped grow a tomato, furnish a house, baked a cookie or put money in the bank.

How long do you want to hold onto your fears? How is holding on to that energy working for you?

Are you willing to let go of fear – now?

If so, I’ve created a technique to help you do that: The ETHOS Method. Click this link to go there, pick up your copy of the entire method – free. And if you already know and practice ETHOS, bring up that fear that current events bring up in you, and pulse your triple cue.

Uncreate, dissolve and release.

When you download the pdf and hang out in our community and listen to the free audios (and soon videos!) we have, you’ll get all the updates automatically, by mail.

One of the things coming up is a teleclass to get past your fear of financial weirdness, or anything else. I’ll be posting more about that soon. Until then, enjoy the deep peace that ETHOS brings.

And take a cookie. Wholewheat or gluten-free.

By the time you’ve finished eating it, you’ll remember that being afraid of things that haven’t even happened yet is kind of silly.

And you’ll remember that you feel pretty good, after all.

The Reluctant Entrepreneur: “But I’m not Motivated or Confident…”

Monday, June 23rd, 2008 by Maryam Webster

yes...This just in from correspondent J.W.:

"I got my NLP practitioner certification last year, but have been lacking the motivation, understanding and confidence to start up my own practice. Do you have any advice to give me to pursue a practice as my end goal?

Secondly, I’ve found it very difficult to use the techniques on myself as both client and practitioner, to help me move toward my goals, and away from problems. Are there any specific techniques you’ve found useful for working with yourself when you’ve been less than willing to change at that time?"

Hi J.W.,
Thanks for writing. The first question I’d ask you if you were my mentee is "why do you want a private practice"? You need to know the true answer to this before you can even begin to think about setting up shop. And btw, "to make money" is not a valid answer. That goes without saying. Now, why do you *really* want to have a private practice. This is something you should address with your coach.

I would also, personally, do a year of NLP coaching with a recognized master on your own issues if you find yourself so resistant to using NLP. You need to be a veteran of technique usage if you’re going to be selling sessions in that technique to your clients. If you’re not past your own resistance to the technique, you won’t be a good coach.

Also, if you lack motivation, then the goal isn’t juicy enough for you to pursue. Work with the goal in mind until you find one that fires you up so much you’re glowing, and you’ll have no trouble. Perhaps a special group of people really has your heart – Maybe single parents? Those preparing for exams? People who’ve just been through surgery? These are just a few "niches" you could mine – you’ll think of one special to you.

Confidence is gained through practice, so practice with anyone you can. I assign all my students coaching buddies for this reason – find a buddy who went through prac track with you and get going.

And now some advice you didn’t ask for but desperately need: start right now to take as many service business marketing classes as you can. Your business is not "doing NLP", your business as such is "marketing yourself". And I mean that in the kindest, non-prurient sort of way. Marketing yourself as a provider of NLP of course, but no one knows what NLP is. Who cares, when all I want is to get rid of this headache I’ve had for ten years or motivate myself to finish my novel or whatever else your ideal clients want. EVEN MORE IMPORTANT than marketing the technique (forget it, it’s a waste of time) is marketing the many BENEFITS that working with you  can give to your clients.

We’ll be having a special class on Promoting and Filling Your Private Practice given by Energy Coach Institute trainers in the autumn. You can attend wherever you are in the world. Sign up for my newsletter (fill in the "Free Blisskit" form to the left of this post) and you’ll be in the know as soon as we announce the class.

Self-coaching -  floor anchors are the best way to process yourself using the basic "mother of NLP" process which works for anything: Present State + Necessary Resources = Desired State.

I’ll post this to my blog as it’s a really great question that might be of help to others.

Warm Blessings,
