Everyday Bliss For Busy Women: The Book Arrives!

Saturday, April 12th, 2008 by Maryam Webster

Maryam, with Everyday BlissHuzzah! The book has arrived. The real book, not just the jpg, which was all I had of the cover photo. And here is me with book, very late at night after being out all day and coming home to the box on my doorstep. Weary, and without makeup, but the grin is 100% gen-u-wine.

Mitties Anoushka and Tashi-Claire immediately sat in the box and pawed its contents but unlike swift friend Andy, who caught his sitting in the book box, I was not fast enough to get a photo.  ;-)

The illustrations reproduced beautifully and friends have praised the self-coaching system as clear and concise. Reviewer’s copies are now being shipped (stay tuned for acid-test thoughts on Everyday Bliss from the most provocative minds in America and Europe!).

As an author, one comes to look at their book in terms of a series of chapters, or this or that section. It’s nice to finally see it all hang together. For a gift book, it certainly is wide - the spine is about an inch wide. Too much goodness to contain in just one place. I can’t wait for it to be on shelves all over so I can share this information with you, too.

More soon on how to purchase, and get in on our super-special Publication-Day Special "Energy of Everyday Bliss - Spring Training" Telesummit…here’s a preview:

If you purchase the book at Amazon.com on May 1st, 2008, you will get a whole TON of special bonuses including a community full of resources, just for readers not available elsewhere. Audios, videos, Bliss Coaching, interviews, community forums on just about every topic in attaining true and lasting Bliss.

The biggest of these "Reader’s Circle" bonuses however, is a cutting-ege NEW:

The Subtlety of Silence, from a friend

Saturday, March 15th, 2008 by Maryam Webster

silence is best found in natureI am so blessed in my friends. They are a constant reminder of Bliss in so very many ways. Suzanne Falter-Barns, besides being a good friend, personal platform coach and author, is also accomplished at the art of Joy Cultivation. Suzanne lives on a huge lake and is the picture of vibrant health as she regularly recreates on or around it. I admire her sheer verve and the beautiful lifestyle she’s created. Suzanne recently wrote a blog post I felt compelled to comment on and wanted to share a wise nugget of here:

I’ve come to understand not only how restorative quiet is, but how necessary it is. In order to connect with our creative projects, we really need that stillness. Our tender, fragile creative voices are hard enough to hear. Once you add the static of these crazy, complicated, overly busy lives we’ve cooked up, it becomes downright impossible. There is a reason writers have always headed to the hills to write their opus magnus — they already know the magic of quiet.

She follows this with a great selection of coaching questions around whether you are getting enough silent time in your life. A must-read.

Hormone Use after Menopause - cancer risks appear

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008 by Maryam Webster

CHICAGO - The first follow-up of a landmark study of hormone use after menopause shows heart problems linked with the pills seem to fade after women stop taking them, while surprising new cancer risks appear.

That heart trouble associated with hormones may not be permanent is good news for millions of women who quit taking them after the government study was halted six years ago because of heart risks and breast cancer.

But the new risks for other cancers, particularly lung tumors, in women who’d taken estrogen-progestin pills for about five years puzzled the researchers and outside experts….

….Dr. Nieca Goldberg, a New York University women’s heart specialist, said the study underscores that in addition to cancer screening, women who stop taking hormones need to find other ways to keep their bones strong, including getting more calcium and exercise.

Well we knew that ingested hormones were bad for you, but here’s even more proof. Get a bone density test if you’re over 35, don’t smoke or quit if you already do, exercise like a rabid rottweiler and drink your milk or oyster shell calcium with an acidic chaser like a shot glass of orange juice or a teaspoon of lemon juice, to help it absorb. Don’t forget if you’re taking a calcium supplement to make sure it has Vitamin D in it to aid assimilation of the calcium inside the body - milk in America already has Vitamin D added. And please do go read the whole article here

Beauty Tips from Audrey Hepburn (and one from me)

Friday, January 18th, 2008 by Maryam Webster

Jasmine White, L.Ac.Forwarded from powerful beauty, and ace girlfriend, Jasmine White (right) is this "friendly chain mail".  Send it to all the Beautiful Women in your life!

Did you know that it’s Beautiful Women Month? Well it is, and that means you! I’m supposed to send this to FIVE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, and if you’re a woman reading this, YOU are one of them!!!

Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote  when asked to share her "beauty tips." It was read at her funeral years later:

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness…

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day. (or your mother, sibling or lover  ~ Maryam)

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone…

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed;

Never throw out anyone.

And one Maryam-tip:
For a smooth and wrinkle-free face, live in the Now where there are truly no problems to cause brow-furrowing.

Remember,
if you ever need a helping hand,
you will find one at the end of each of your arms.

As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands;
one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.

If you share this with another woman,
something good will happen.
You will boost another woman’s self esteem,
and she will know that you care about her.

It’s
BEAUTIFUL Women Month
TAG
YOU’RE IT!

Bliss Key: Freedom From Compaction

Monday, January 7th, 2008 by Maryam Webster

One of the most important of the Bliss Keys that I’ve discovered is:

E  -  X  -  P  -  A  -  N  -  D

compaction weighs you down and feels like depression in the body...The German metaphysicist Eckhart Tolle speaks about our collected personal negative experiences - fear, anger, pain, sadness, guilt and the like, operating as a form of consciousness inside of us. He calls this collection of experience the "painbody". As humans, we are somewhat addicted to paying attention to negativity. When we constantly attend to our painbody, it prevents us from being fully Present. Added to our own personal negativity, we also have that of our immediate family lines and also, of the culture we we’re born into and the one in which we currently live. Sum all that up and the energy the painbody consumes can be a hellishly powerful force.

The painbody feeds upon negative input, and its existence is the reason we can sometimes experience very miserable lives.

Those joining me in the 12 Keys to Bliss Program will learn more about the Painbody, how it operates and how to move past it. You can still join us! Click here for more info  (opens in a new window)

Tolle and other spiritual authors point to the quality of having a fairly large painbody (most Westerners do) as being "compacted" or "compressed". This always makes me think of those trash compacter machines back in the 1980’s. Remember those? They took a whole houseful of trash and compacted it into a cube less than a quarter of its original size.

Imagine being only a quarter of YOUR original size. I’m barely 5"5" in stocking feet. If I were a quarter of my size, I would be less than a foot and a half tall (or, from 162.5cm to 43 cm for the decimal crowd).

Are there days when you FEEL as small as this? As if the weight of the world were bowing you down to the ground? This is the PHYSICAL SENSATION of Compaction - give thanks for this feeling! It is a powerful tool that will lead you towards Bliss.

How? By showing you the opposite of what you really want. Simply flip this state on its back and take a look at the flipside. This is what you DO want. Straighten your shoulders, elongate your upper spine and allow it to pull your entire body upward as you think about what you do want. Engage your abdominal muscles until you feel how strong you really are.

Think about it…

Create Your Dream Biz with Mirassou

Friday, November 2nd, 2007 by Maryam Webster

Thanks to Gina for a timely tip on the Mirasou Winery offering for Women Entrepreneurs:

Mirassou has been a longtime supporter of women-owned businesses over the past three years. Since obtaining capital is the No. 1 obstacle women face in starting their own businesses, Mirassou has created the "Make Your Dreams Come True with Mirassou" contest which provides $50,000 in seed money to help start a "Dream" business.

The "Make Your Dreams Come True with Mirassou" contest is open to women who aspire to open a new business. To enter, applicants must submit a personal essay of 500 words or less describing themselves and why they think they would make a successful entrepreneur. A preliminary business plan will also be required and should include: 1) a description of the new business, 2) the consumer appeal to the new business, and 3) a plan to implement the new business.

Sorry, but we CANNOT follow up on "challenge-response" services that require senders to go to a webpage to authorize our email to get through to you. If you have one of these, please use your PRIMARY Gmail, Yahoo or other account  instead (one you read every day, as our Bliss Party calls are sometimes at short notice!) to receive email from us.

What A "No Sweat, All-Party" R&D Team Is Like:

  • And as always, I won’t let you get away without taking the good feelings even further, so you’ll get  ENERGY COACHING tidbits in each and every Bliss Party call…
  • I’ll also send you emails between the calls, and you send me your thoughts, improvements or other areas too look towards, if you feel called to do so. We’ll have fun musing together over how we can achieve Everyday Bliss in our lives and how to spread the Joy to others.

This is the basis of how I am conducting my research, so you have a chance to really influence the direction of the Everyday Bliss For Busy Women book and the products and services that will grow to complement the book and other books in the series.

While there are many perks to being an R&D BlissTeam member, you’ll participate at your own level of comfort, there are NO "musts, shoulds or oughts".  Answer R&D team emails as much as you want, party on our call-ins as often you want, listen to as many expert interviews as you want, take part in as many giveaways as you want.

As this is a community based effort and people very often come up with similar ideas, all contributions will be credited to "The Everyday Bliss R&D Team". And if you ever find you’re not having the time to participate, you can unsubscribe and re-subscribe at any time.

That’s a cartload of Blissful Goodness, and the warmth, love and support of a dedicatedly peaceful community to boot. How’s that for a deal?

We’ve got several more Keys to Bliss to research together, and this is the book’s production year - I’m still writing - (pub date: Spring, 2008) and it’s going to be busy, happy, party-filled and fun year for us all!

So if you’re interested in ALL these Goodies, and the clickable MindMap of "How To Achieve Bliss In 8 Key Areas Of Life", just fill in the form above…

Welcome!

Final Fantasy…

Friday, October 12th, 2007 by Maryam Webster

I’m in the last few days of doing author edits to my book, Everyday Bliss For Busy Women. I can’t tell you what a joy it will be to finally be done. My participation in the production will be limited from here on until the book hits the shelves of your local Borders or Barnes & Noble the first of May, 2008.

I was speaking to one of my clients, Susannah*, a corporate excecutive in prosthetic device manufacturing, about the feelings involved in finishing a big piece of work. She detailed the wind-down of a project she’s involved in:  "It’s funny" she said. "I have a sense of tremendous accomplishment in this project, it’s just like giving birth. But then there’s the letdown of not being pregnant any more. And I liked being pregnant!" she said emphatically. "But I also loved having my babies in the world to share with the rest of our family…just like I will be so glad to have this prosthesis out the door and doing good for people."

I know how you feel Susannah, I feel the same way about Everyday Bliss! I can’t wait until the book hits the shelves! In a way, I’ve had a "final week fantasy" that I finish the book, tons of women who’ve never heard of energy therapies learn about them and get themselves, their children and their whole families and communities free from stress, illness and fear. Wouldn’t that be just the best thing?

And on stress, I’ll share one of the Bliss Keys from the book:

"Nothing is truly required of you"

Past  your own survival needs, most of the stress we heap on ourselves is of our own making .Think about it…
