Happy Freedom From Self Improvement Day!!!

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007 by Maryam Webster

Get Jen's Cool Postcards at freedomfromselfimprovement.com!This is THE Blog for you if you’re a Woman who desires to live a life of  Everyday Bliss. Though that necessarily requires a bit of work on yourself, Bliss also BEGINS with accepting you for WHO YOU ARE.  Your thighs are thin enough. Trust me, my thighs are bigger than yours and it doesn’t keep me up nights. Bliss is knowing that things are okay as they are, you’re just fine, you are living a Guided life, and what needs to change will take care of itself.

TODAY my friend the renowned "Comfort Queen", Jennifer Louden, has declared an international holiday:

May 15, 2007:  Freedom From Self Improvement Day

Self-improvement is a one-way ticket to misery, Jen says. She endorses a path to happiness and fulfillment that starts with acceptance of who and where you are.

As a certified Bliss Booster, I couldn’t agree more.

As we give gratitude for what is good and wonderful in our lives, we need to start with ourselves - WHOMever you are, WHEREever you are and WHATever is going on in your life….is all just fine.

“Beating ourselves up because our thighs aren’t thin enough, or because we still haven’t perfected the art of ‘positive thinking’ hasn’t made us happier or the world a better place,” says Jen, whose books include The Woman’s Comfort Book and her recently released The Life Organizer: A Woman’s Guide to a Mindful Year.

“Inner peace through endless self-improvement only serves to make us endlessly dissatisfied and disappointed. The biggest paradox in trying to change ourselves is that nothing happens until we embrace who and how we are right now, imperfections, perceived flaws and all.” she says.

I’ll add that it is only then that you can go forward out of what isn’t what you want and engage the Law of Attraction to get what you want. That Gratitude for What Is, is absolutely essential. And it needs to be legitimate gratitude, not merely mouthed insincerely.

My recommendation, if you’re not to the happy place with where you are yet, is to start with the EFT Personal Peace Procedure. Being at peace with yourself is key to Everyday Bliss.

The day will include a number of resources to encourage self-acceptance, ban self-improvement, and have fun while doing it, including a “Declaration of Independence from Self-Improvement,” audio downloads contributed by a host of best-selling authors and spiritual teachers, and suggested activities for celebrating our beautiful, imperfect selves.

To get a comprehensive run-down on what Jen is offering, check her blog out at:

http://freedomfromselfimprovement.com

And drop the shoulda-coulda-woulda’s, don’ts and must-do’s that litter your life and poison personal peace.

Be Kind to You.

Be gentle and compassionate with your dear, precious self.

To quote Jen: "True change is a result of self-love, not self-hatred.”  You said it, girlfriend.

How An Energy Coach Banishes Fear

Thursday, May 10th, 2007 by Maryam Webster

The below is a bit technical but for Kamala AND Marion, who asked. This reply in particular was to Marion, on the NCC list:

…I deal with fear-bashing on a daily basis and it’s one of the first things I teach the energy coaches I train. First of all one of the presuppositions that we work by which comes from neurolinguistic programming:

"There is no Failure - Only Feedback"

Once a person really gets this, the shame, guilt and upset that accompanies such fear is taken down significantly. When they try at a task and perceive that they "fail" again and again, they are in reality researchers in their own lives, gathering data. They have reached several plateaus in their data gathering that tell them that this is another way not to accomplish the task they are addressing. This is wonderful, for they are weeding down the thousands of possible choices to the ones that really matter, that will get them "there" - wherever that is.

Here is the process we use to deal with Fear of any kind, in The Everyday Bliss Process and Energy Coaching in general:

First I do reality checking. Is this a realistic fear? If not, we present a reframing primarily and may or may not go further. Often this is all that is required, but if not we will go on to do a belief change process and sometimes a recoding of the base formative decision with the client’s choice of energy change modalities. ZPoint Process is my current favorite, though TAT and EFT are also excellent for this purpose.

We also want to know in the case of a major personality base-matrix decision, if this is a present fear, or something that has been sown in childhood as most root fears are. When we have a fear of basic core states like success and failure, they are without exception, no matter how recent a trigger experience might have been, rooted deep in childhood - one’s first experiences with authority. While it is immaterial with some of the more advanced of the energy change modalities to know exactly when and what happened, clients will often have a sense of this.

Whether they remember a pivotal moment or not, we:

1) Reframe at all levels, but particularly the kinesthetic (how this feeling of fear sits in their body or mind) using a variety of techniques

2) Recode the decision made as a result of the initiating experience (the "I’m afraid to fail (because when I do I am beaten or yelled at)" or "I will NEVER be successful (because all successful people are jerks and I hate jerks)…and in fact, I’m afraid of success")

3) Do a conflict integration in the case of a double-bind which is nearly always present in Fear based beliefs, and finally

4) Instill a new decision about the childhood experience, plus a choice the client makes about how they would rather view the thing once feared.

Here’s an example: A father hits his child when the child fails tests at school, yelling at him and calling him stupid. The child over time concludes that they are stupid and that they are incapable of success, because the authority figures they trust, the father and perhaps a teacher or two tells them so. Perhaps not directly, but children are masters of reading implication.

Decisions Made as a result of this: "I am stupid"  + "I cannot be successful" and there’s a hidden one there too: "When I fail, I experience pain" and the real whammy: "I’m frightened to fail, yet I can never succeed"

This is a classic double-bind and sets the child up for a lifetime of failure, pain, and self-destruction. While these ‘failures’ may be only minor, they are experienced as shattering.

Such an individual as an adult might choose the new decision of "Father didn’t know what he was talking about, he was speaking from his own pain and had no idea about my capabilities. Therefore, I cannot trust or believe what he told me then."  and the Choice of "I am infinitely capable and have proven it many times. I have a college degree - stupid people don’t get degrees, only smart people do. Therefore I know that I am smart enough and I choose to feel okay about who I am. I enjoy succeeding, and know that I have all it takes to be successful. I’ve proven this many times in my life…."

The client will ideally go on to fill in the blanks of a good handful of the times they have successfully accomplished a task. Any task is relevant, no matter how small.

The point is to provide as many counter-examples to the perceived sense of failure as possible.

Much of this is derived from neurolinguistic programming, though accomplished in Energy Coaching through the sophisticated use of the simple-to-practice energy changework techniques EFT, ZPoint and TAT.

I hope this wasn’t too academic and can be helpful to coaches and therapists alike out there - you can do much of this in a talking mode with a client using appreciative inquiry as well. Enjoy!

Warm Blessings,
Maryam

Together, We Can Alleviate This National Tragedy

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007 by Maryam Webster

If you are as troubled as I am about the Virgina Tech massacre, you might be feeling a little helpless and frustrated right now. I know I sure was once the bulletins stopped flying and the shock wore off a bit. It was a little like 9/11 all over again.

I’m a person that feels very deeply. And as I watched the news, a feeling of panic rose…my breathing got real shallow….tears welled up and hovered in my eyes as I watched the tragedy unfold.

I thought how senseless and what a cruel shame it was that those young people’s lives were cut short, and how horrible for the survivors desperate for answers that the police were saying we’d probably never know why.

And then….I remembered I could breathe, and I remembered that I had the choice to say my cue word, or tap or hold the TAT pose. I did all three. Plus about ten minutes of the three different kinds of cross-crawls.

Tragedies like this snarl both our emotions and our energy fields….

Self-care is really important during a time like this. So if you’re affected, or if you were actually involved, then go here right now and learn how to take care of yourself:

http://quantumflow.com/stressrelief.html

I also want to remind everyone that just as we have the ability to tap, pose and cue for ourselves, we can also lend selfless service to those who are still suffering.

While this may seem initially unhelpful to hear…

And while *of course* we all need a decent period to grieve our losses…

Let’s also remind ourselves that *undue* suffering is, truly, optional. And, that we who have taken the pledge to help others….can help ourselves best at times like this…by doing both our own work AND surrogate energy therapy for those who don’t yet know that they need not suffer.

So join all of the people in the Energy Field who are massing together to help alleviate this and other suffering, doing whatever you know best. For the power of Prayer has been proven by university study, and the power of our own Intention is great and well documented. And we know that there is no real distance between us, for we are all one in the Zero Point Field. (if you don’t yet know what this is all about, then by all means read Lynne McTaggart’s book ‘The Field: Search For The Mysterious Force of the Universe)

To quote my good friend Kim George:

‘Do What You Can Do and Know that What is Meant for You, Can Never Be Lost’

Until next time, my warmest blessings,

I’ve been [knock wood] Wonderfully Flu-Free This Year

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007 by Maryam Webster

Could it be because I eat a lot of garlic?? We put it in our food, add it to our fresh veggie juices, make an and have it in teas when we do get ill…which isn’t often. Came across a great article from Ashland, Oregon herbalist, Julie Avena on this. If you’ve got a cough, flu or other inflammatory problem, listen up! This is great stuff:

Daily use of garlic has been known to prevent heart disease, balance blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and increase overall immunity. Eating raw or lightly cooked garlic is the best way to benefit from its healing virtues. Lightly cooking chopped garlic in olive oil helps to infuse the medicinal constituents into your meals. It is best to let the chopped garlic sit for ten minutes, adding it at the very end of the cooking process to preserve more allicin, the beneficial compound responsible for fighting disease. It is questionable whether encapsulated powdered garlic has any medicinal benefit at all.

When addressing an acute condition, only raw garlic will fight infections. Try it chopped and mixed in honey, juiced with vegetables (start with ¼ tsp garlic juice per 16 ounces of juice, up to 1 tsp garlic juice, every hour), sprinkled over soup or salad. Keep in mind that too much raw garlic can cause nausea, vomiting and irritation to the intestinal tract, so start with small doses. One should avoid taking raw garlic on an empty stomach.

Different solvents extract different constituents of garlic. Boulder herbal guru, Paul Bergner, shares this “Connoisseur’s Garlic Cocktail” in his book, The Healing Power of Echinacea and Goldenseal and Other Immune System Herbs: Blend together 3 cloves garlic with 1 tsp each red wine, vinegar and olive oil, add ¼ cup hot water and let sit 6 hours. Without straining, add 1/3 of the mix to a cup of hot water and drink up, repeating every 3-6 hours.

This sounds like a recipe for salad dressing, but this stuff really works. If you are still freaked out about the possibility of a bird flu pandemic, may I suggest a simple act to ease your conscious. Plant garlic! Simply take a healthy looking, fat clove off the garlic head and put it in the earth with the tip facing up; if you plant now you can have a harvest by mid-summer. Getting your hands in the earth and growing your own medicine is therapy in itself. Don’t let their fear tactics weaken you! Remember, prevention and peace of mind is the best medicine.

The Secret….Skeptical?

Monday, March 5th, 2007 by Maryam Webster

Secret_movie Still skeptical about the power of The Law of Attraction as taught in The Secret Movie?? Then get on the bus and TEST DRIVE "The Secret" with Andy Wibbels and I for the next 30 Days. You can rev up here:

http://secretskeptic.com

Check out Andy’s MindMap of the Law of Attraction history here:

And be sure to listen to the "Getting The Secret" call Andy and I did last week:

MP3 File

People really loved the call as did we. Andy and I were overwhelmed with all the lovely comments folks made after the call. Here’s what people are saying:

Wow, Andy. This was a great call. And I am now a HUGE Maryam Webster fan. She does a great job of straddling the woo-woo with the practical. And I’m so glad someone spoke to how the Law of Attraction isn’t just about getting stuff. It’s a path of deep personal unfoldment and enrichment. Congrats!

R.I.P. Lime TV + Video: Be At Ease & Breathe More Fully

Sunday, February 25th, 2007 by Maryam Webster

Rest In Peace, LimeTV. Lime was one of the only television channels I watched weekly, as it showcased environmental issues, green politics and alternative healthcare programming. Funding for programming seems to have run out in late 2005 and Lime existed for the last year in reruns. I tuned in to the "Everyday Yoga" program today only to find a short announcement:

"We regret to inform you LIME will cease broadcasting at midnight ET on 2/25/07."

Whatta bummer. You can still access a very limited set of offerings at the LIME website. And if you like LIME, you can sign up to become a member of their membership community :

http://lime.com/community

VIDEO 4U: Hottie Alert! My sister-in-law thinks Rodney Yee is the hottest things in yoga shorts. He’s not bad on the eyes and is an even greater yoga instructor for all levels. I’ll miss Rodney’s "Everyday Yoga" progams (one can only hope he’ll be picked up by public TV), but there are short segment videos still available at Lime.com. In this one, Rodney explains how to be at ease and breathe more fully and naturally, clearing chest congestion. If you have a cold, flu or other chest/head congestive condition, try this pose every day as much as you like to relax and open the chest. Enjoy!

The NEW TAT Technique - Bliss Out Here!

Sunday, February 18th, 2007 by Maryam Webster

(Here’s a tidbit, as I’m writing, straight from Chapter
Four in "Everyday Bliss For Busy Women". Enjoy!)

THE NEW TAT INNOVATIONS

Tapas Acupressure Technique, or TAT, is the meridian-based therapy that I’ve personally seen in my practice, that tends to be the most favored by women. It is deceptively gentle, thorough, and features a smaller set of acupoints than EFT. TAT involves holding – not tapping – three acupressure points on the front of the head, while covering the back of the head with your other hand and running through a short series of mental steps.

This procedure releases stress, mental friction, physical symptoms in many cases, and other problems that keep you from an experience of Everyday Bliss.

Tapas is a Sanskrit word that means “transmutation through fire”. The points held create in Chinese medical terms, “heat” in the body and the process is transformative. Though you won’t necessarily overheat if you use this technique, it is suggested that you keep your practice down to 20 minutes a day, rest briefly afterwards, and as with all energy therapies, drink lots of water.

Tapas Fleming, creator of Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) has announced many changes to the technique in the last year.  Here is a brief summary along with some truly bad cellphone pictures of me in the poses.  For the book, we’ll of course be having  professional models, but you work with what you’ve got .

Enjoy!

Shortform TAT

This sequence was recently suggested by Sara Arey, TAT Education coordinator.

Step One: Everything that contributed to my identification and resonance with (whatever) happened.

Step Two: Everything that contributed to my identification and resonance with (whatever) happened, it’s over and I no longer identify or resonate with (whatever).

Step Three: I now resonate and identify with (whatever you want).

Tapas notes that identifying with a resonance is elegant and powerful but is still in the testing phases. An eloquent shortening, but as we’re still playing with it, use the original steps below for greater accuracy.

New Steps of TAT

The TAT Protocol has changed many times over the last two years. Here are both the Dedication and updated Steps of the Protocol:

1. Before starting the TAT Pose and general steps, affirm: "I dedicate this work for the benefit of all of my ancestors, all of my family, all parts of me and all points of view I have ever had, and and anyone else who might gain benefit from it."

We do this because we know that some conditions run through many generations of families ( for example: “the women in my family always have nervous spells/breast cancer/marry badly”). It is also important to deal with all aspects of a problem – most of which we may never know consciously. Taking this small extra step has resulted in deep healing for many people and their families.

The TAT Pose

2. Place your hands in the TAT Pose, front hand (either hand will do) with thumb and ring finger on the UB1 (1st point on the Urinary Bladder Meridian) or "Eyes Bright" points, 1/8" above the inner point of the eye. The middle finger lightly rests on the acupuncture point GV24 (24th point on the Governing Meridian) or Yin Tang - the third eye point in the middle of the forehead.

The other hand rests easily cupping the back of the head, with thumb resting on the occiput, or lower skull line. (see picture)

Practice holding this pose. It may seem awkward at first, but you doubtless remember seeing people in stress unconsciously rubbing their forehead between their eyes at these points, or you may have done so yourself. There’s a reason why – it’s a natural stress reliever!

You will take a slight break from the TAT pose when you finish with each Step, a few seconds will do. And given that the pose itself can build up a bit of heat in the body, spend no more than 20 minutes a day actually holding the pose.

3. Place your mind on the Problem and affirm: "Everything that led up to this (name the problem) happened"

4. "This (problem) happened, it’s over and I’m okay now."

5. Place your mind on the opposite of the problem. OR skip this step now, and do the "Choice Step" below

6. "Thank you for healing all the places in my mind, body and life where this has been stored"

Who are you thanking? And why? Good questions. Having gratitude for one’s life, present circumstances and transformations is not only important, but imperative to your healing and is the first of a Triad of powerful Attractor Factors built into the TAT process.

Address your gratitude to whatever your concept of Higher Power is, or simply just "Thank you" to the universe in general without qualifiers.

The Attitude of Gratitude is a powerful motivator and catalyst for the subconscious mind to move the forces of the universe into rearranging your world for you. Use it!

7. "Thank you for healing all of the origins of this now" (same inclusion of Higher Power goes here too)

8. "I apologise to everyone I may have hurt related to this and wish them love, happiness and peace"

9. "I forgive everyone who hurt me related to this, and everyone I blamed for this, including Higher Power (God, Goddess, Spirit, Universe…insert your wording here) and Myself. I wish us all love, happiness and peace"

It is equally important that you forgive others…and yourself. Like Gratitude and Apology, Forgiveness is the Third powerful Attractor Factor, motivator and catalyst that tells the universe that you have full intention to have your healing/emotional clearing be complete. Unconditional Forgiveness of all people, events, self and one’s concept of the Divine opens a nice clean space for you to receive the healing you are requesting.

10.  "All the parts of me that got some benefit from this are healing now"

All behaviors have some positive intent to SOME part of us, no matter how unwanted they might be to us. The positive intent of an unwanted behavior may not be immediately apparent to you, but one is there or the behavior wouldn’t be. There’s a part - perhaps just a wee tiny one, that is getting some positive benefit from your unwanted behavior or situation. You don’t have to know what it is however, to dissolve it with this Step. Just say the statement, hold the TAT Pose and let it go!

12. "Whatever is left about this is healing now"

13. The Choice Step: "I Choose __(whatever positive outcome you want) ____ "

Make your Chosen positive outcome as fully fleshed as possible. See it, hear it, smell and taste how it is, feel it deeply in your body. The more vivid you can make it, the more fully it will be magnetized toward you.

14. The Integration Step: In the TAT pose : "Thank you for completely integrating this healing now". Switch your hands around: "This healing is completely integrated now". Hands now cup ears: "This healing is complete".

Do this last step with the "Integration Three" series of new TAT maneuvers, explained below.

New Maneuvers

Here’s how to do the "Integration Three Series" on the new last step of TAT: "All of this healing is completely integrated now". To do this series, affirm the above statement and spend 20 seconds or so in each of the following positions:

1. The TAT Pose, beginning with right hand in front (you can start with either hand) "Thank you for completely integrating this healing now"

2. The TAT Pose, switching hands, left in front. "This healing is completely integrated now"

:

3. The Final Integration Pose - fingertips surrounding both ears as though you are cupping the ear flap, touching the temporal track crease in back of the ear flap snugly. Yes, it looks a bit silly but who cares, if it works? And it DOES work - very elegantly - by tapping into the entire bodymind.

In the second picture shows the approximate distribution of the fingertips around the ear, with the fingertips slightly off the body for illustration purposes only. Affirm: "This healing is complete".

This series has the remarkable effect of locking in all changes made during the TAT session, utilizing the TAT pose’s hotline to the visual cortex of the brain, linking that with right-left brain cross-stimulation as you switch hands back and forth, and sealing it with temporal track stimulation. This has the effect of embedding commands deeply in both the logical and creative halves of the mind

This last pose not only invokes the "homunculus of the body" in the ear (the main acupoints of all organs and systems in the body are reproduced in miniature on each ear) but also taps into the extreme suggestibility present when the temporal area is stimulated.

Be sure to end all your TAT sessions with this "Integration Three" sequence for greater effectiveness. And be sure to allow some rest and integration time at the end of each and every TAT session. You’ll come to relish it!

Bringing Personal Peace to someone 3,000 miles away

Thursday, February 1st, 2007 by Maryam Webster

Periodically I like to bring in some of Gary Craig’s excellent articles and blog posts from his EFT Blog. Several clients this week have had emotional situations with people either "many miles in the past" or far away across several states or continents, so the idea of surrogate work is particularly appropriate. This article is an excellent illustration of how the "power of personal peace" can not only be yours, but also be brought to those not present. Reproduced with permission from:

The EFT Blog…
by Gary Craig

Here’s an EFT case that produced major benefits for two people … even though only one of them was present.  It involves creative applications of EFT as well as a fascinating version of surrogate healing.  The implications are staggering.

Betty was like a dormant rosebud whose flower remained unopened for years.  This bright, attractive, 40ish lady had many inspiring dreams.  However, her critical mother put a lid on every one of them by saying things like…

"Why on earth would you want to do that?"
"Only lazy people go down that road?"
"Can’t you find something more responsible to do?

Betty and I aimed EFT at her response to this torrent of disapprovals and did, indeed, make progress.  However, her family dynamics were such that, when she returned home, mother would still be frequently "in her face" with repeated put downs.  This, of course, would dilute our work and thus I suggested another EFT avenue.

"Why don’t we do a session where you become your mother?", I said.  "That way you can gain some insights into your mother’s disposition … AND … some of her insecurities, angers and other emotions might be resolved surrogately.  Who knows, maybe she will actually develop some softer behaviors toward your pursuits."

Betty agreed and so she sat in a different chair and I applied EFT to her as though she was her own mother.  I explored areas such as mother’s…

Childhood
Beliefs
Rejections
Limits
And so on.

We spent an hour doing EFT on these issues and, as a result, Betty gained a deeper understanding of her mother’s need to belittle her.  Betty’s demeanor softened and she radiated a more peaceful inner being.

This is always delightful to behold, of course. But how would this affect mother?  After all, mother was 3,000 miles away and had no idea this session was occurring.  Could this form of surrogate work actually relieve some of mother’s own issues so that a softer, more forgiving presence would be hers to enjoy?

The answer came 3 months later when I spoke with Betty again.  As it turns out, mother stopped belittling Betty instantly and, instead, would ask her gentle, supporting questions about her pursuits.  In Betty’s terms, "It was a complete flip and the only thing that could explain it was our surrogate session."

All we did was make some logical presumptions about mother’s unnecessary emotional burden and applied EFT to them. We also borrowed from our well established experience with surrogate EFT (tapping for someone else) and the result was a greatly relieved and socially transformed mother.  Betty’s life was improved as well.

I’ve seen this type of result before but thought this time I would beat the drum a bit for it.  The potential here is enormous.  It offers an opportunity to bring peace to others across vast distances.  We could do this for loved ones in other parts of the world; for friends who may be in distress; for world leaders to soften their stance on war; for athletes who need to sharpen their performance while on the field; for trauma victims; for our children while they are at school and so on.

Oh my!

I hope this hits you where it counts.  How much good could you do with this idea? How much suffering could you end? How many lives could you shift forever?

Peace, Gary

PS:  An often asked question is "Do I need permission to do this for someone else?"  That’s a personal choice, of course, but I suggest that permission isn’t necessary.  Reasons are given on our website in my article entitled, Can we do EFT surrogately or through intention? If so, do we need permission?

PPS:  All the basics of EFT can be learned for free by Downloading the EFT Manual

Questions About Tao of Ka-Ching Intro

Monday, January 29th, 2007 by Maryam Webster

We had a great time on the Tao of Ka-Ching Intro Class today. If you didn’t get a chance to listen to it, the replay is available on our Tao of Ka-Ching website, here:

http://taokaching.com

And now, to answer a Very Important Question that came up on the call:

Baya, on the call from the U.K. mentioned her overwhelm at the bewildering array of different things to do to boost her business and increase pro.fits. She’s already spending most of her time working, but says she would need several days to study a tool like Google Adsense, for example. She concludes with "..in the meanwhile, I am not making any money! I am lucky because I have a good practise but would like to expand it much more"

Baya, I regret we didn’t have the time to go into this on the call - I wish we’d had another hour!

We’ll definitely go WAY DEEP into this problem in the Tao of Ka-Ching class experience. But since this is such a WIDESPREAD problem, I’d like to give a bit more of an answer here. I don’t know your business or you, but I’m glad to meet you. :-)  I’d venture to say however, that you don’t have a solid foundation to your business, or that your foundation has changed significantly since you formulated your first business plan.

When I say business foundation I mean:

  • You know exactly what your business vision, mission and purpose is, you know exactly what you offer and who you serve and exactly how you do that.
  • You know who your ideal client is and you work with NO ONE but that kind of person.
  • You have the granularity of your business down pat and have no suprises or sudden emergencies you can’t handle immediately because you have protocols put into place.
  • Your business operations manual not only exists, but is up to date.
  • You don’t waste time, ever. And you have at least one employee hired on at least a part time basis to take care of the busy work and mundanities, so you can concentrate ONLY on doing what you love.

That sound familiar? Have all this under control? No? Then it’s no suprise that you find yourself with little time and overwhelmed by all the options. Even if you work a day job, you can still  manage your time and create even more time than you think you have! And knowledge of the fundamental business elements above will let you know, instantly, what you need in terms of classes, resources and so-on to improve your business. With this knowledge you won’t be jumping on every bandwagon that rolls by, you’ll know which opportunities are a unique fit for your business.

Here’s some homwork for you Baya, and everyone else who has the same problem, straight from the Tao of Ka-Ching Homework archives - a little sneak peek for you!

It’s not going to be the most exciting thing you do all week, but you will get a very GOOD idea of where your time is going by completing this homework assignment. This is the first step in creating *more* time. And it’s this: document every FIFTEEN minutes through your waking day, for a week. You can do this simply by making a grid with every fifteen minute increment marked out from the time you wake up until bedtime (yep, bedtime). And yep, fifteen minutes. Twenty is too much, you can switch activities several times even in as low as the fifteen minute increment. So you’ll have  four opportunities an hour to make a real quick note of what you’re doing, and choose to do something different…if you want.

Use a shorthand system to mark the grid, such as "W" for work related activities, "F" for family time, "P" for scheduled personal time such as grooming, meditation, yoga, etc, "E" for exercise,  "R" for "recreation" such as reading non-work related material, non-work related web surfing, online gaming, television watching, going out for activities, "M" for miscellaneous - anything that doesn’t fit elsewhere. Make a small note on what you’re doing in each square of the grid. As the squares start to add up, you’re going to begin to see where the extra time in your day is hiding.

This may not be as exciting as just floating through your day unencumbered, but remember that you’re like a sniffer dog on the trail of extra time. It’s there, it’s just doing a clever job of disguising itself among other activities. Sniff it out! Rebelling against the idea of documenting your days? That’s just fear inside you talking. This is usually fear of success (if you don’t identify as successful yet, there’s definitely fear there), fear of losing something you value through being more scheduled…the possibilities are as many as there are human beings out there.

The Cause Of Most Disease is…(no suprise here)

Monday, January 22nd, 2007 by Maryam Webster

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB): — Medical experts agree that no one knows
what causes rheumatoid arthritis, other autoimmune disorders, or
chronic pain. They say there is no known cure or way to prevent
Parkinson’s disease, ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis,
osteoarthritis, or dozens of other illnesses. Modern medicine doesn’t
attempt to cure these conditions. Instead, it manages them for as long
as possible with symptom-suppressing procedures and drugs.

But
a growing number of physicians, medical experts, and health care
practitioners believe they know how these illnesses begin and progress.
It’s not all in your head, they say – but it is in the muscles and
organs that store past traumas. Releasing stored traumas releases the
illness’s underlying cause and helps the body heal from the inside out.
The method they use is EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), a
do-it-yourself acupressure technique described in a free manual from

http://www.emofree.com/downloadeftmanual.asp

Los Angeles physician Eric Robins, MD, explains, “Stress and negative
emotions are often stored in the body’s smooth muscles, which function
automatically, without our conscious control. Stress stored in smooth
muscles of blood vessels going to the head might produce a migraine
headache, while stress stored in smooth muscles of air passages of the
lungs can produce asthma, and stress stored in smooth muscles of the
digestive tract can produce Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Stored emotions
also affect our immune systems.”

Dr. Robins teaches his
patients how to tap on key EFT acupressure points while focusing on
past traumas or stress, and in most cases, he says, symptoms of chronic
diseases improve significantly.

North Carolina radiologist
Larry Burk, MD, is another EFT practitioner. “It is instructive to note
that many ailments which seem to have an underlying anatomical cause
may also have a deeper emotional root,” he says. “There are many
scientific studies indicating that a surprising number of people with
no symptoms whatsoever have dramatic abnormalities on MRI scans
obtained on a volunteer basis for research purposes. Equally puzzling,
many patients with severe debilitating pain from conditions such as
fibromyalgia have no abnormalities. These findings support the concept
that deep emotional issues are at the root of the illness. As soon as
you address these emotional issues with EFT, the physical condition
improves.”

Gary Craig, the Stanford-trained engineer who
developed EFT, has collected thousands of reports documenting its
health benefits from practitioners around the world. “We make no
specific medical claims for EFT,” he explains, “but we agree with
medical experts who say that by relieving past traumas and improving
the body’s flow of energy, EFT can help most patients improve their
health.”

EFT is a new procedure, but already over 300,000 –
including thousands of health care practitioners – have downloaded its
free manual from:

http://www.emofree.com/downloadeftmanual.asp

…and an additional 10,000 download it every month. The manual is
available in nine languages, and EFT practitioners around the world,
especially in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan, and Australia, teach EFT
classes and work with clients.
