Little Kitty Kiss & Coaching Revenue Conference Hoe-Down

Friday, January 28th, 2005 by Maryam Webster

I’m experimenting with moblogging - posting pictures from your cellphone. In this not-terribly-well-focused photo, we see my darling kitties. Anouska at left, accepts a rare kiss from the Tashicat in front of the cottage herb garden. Kiss or hug a friend today!

The blobs of green and purple on the right are the Italian flatleafed parsley gone-amuck among sweet violas, variegated sage, old fashioned peach and saffron-faced pansies, Greek oregano and marjoram, silver thyme, prostrate rosemary, spearmint, peppermint, French tarragon and eight or ten other herbs I use daily in family meals. The crook at the top right of the photo is the trunk of a sweet Meyer lemon tree.

Tanglewood House is on the market at present, and one of the great selling points is that in this house, you’ll certainly never go without gourmet meal fixings. Fourteen fruit trees of different kinds, kalamata olives hanging well over the fence from the neighbors and a side garden ready to be planted with veggies. If you’ve ever wanted to see where I live, or want to buy a house in Saratoga, California, click here for the Virtual Tour - click the "Covered Patio" tab for a view of where the kitties are standing in the photo above - you can actually see the plants and lemon tree (very pretty) in this scene.

Wish I had the time and space to put in some scarlet runner beans in the side garden before we leave - they hide fences with such pretty crimson trumpets of flowers that bring scads of hummingbirds! But alas, that is not to be. I’m teaching a new semester of The Certified Energy Coach Program beginning next Wednesday (click the link if you’d like to take a FREE CLASS this Saturday or Monday on the CEC material) and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I’m attending (and playing party hostess!) Andrea Lee’s Multiple Streams of Coaching Income Conference.

An added bonus for me is that I get to meet The BlogFather, Andy Wibbels, IN PERSON at the MSOCI conference next week. We’re mad raving fans of each other and have never met in the flesh. What scandalous kinds of fun shall ensue I cannot say, but do know that a memorable time will be had by all… <toothy grin>

If you’re a life coach, business coach or corporate coach in the San Francisco Bay Area (or even beyond!) you need to be at this (almost) FREE conference. Click the link above for all the info - you get in for the price of Andrea’s book which I can’t recommend highly enough. The conference is being held near the San Francisco airport - very convenient to travellers from abroad. We’re looking forward to jumping our profits, greatly benefitting others and having the best time we can. Y’all come!

Such a mad social whirl… In the back of my mind, Granny Grace waves we excited young’uns out the door with a tolerant smile, a look that says "oh, you crazy kids!", and returns to the important task of putting up gooseberry preserves. As I think about the richness of lesson-gifts I’ve received from my elders, the one that keeps coming back, just as the Noushcat kisses the Tosh, is: "Show love for one another every single chance you get. Love is the most important thing of all."

My shamanic mentor and spirit father d. deLarm said it best: "Both physical and non-physical, your being is the essence of Love. You are Love, You are Loved, and You are Loving."

Beyond Tattoos: Inkjet Printer Prints Real Skin Cells!

Thursday, January 20th, 2005 by Maryam Webster

Will wonders never cease! Just when we thought we’d heard it all, SlashDot reports an astounding (but good) story in scientific achievement. Check this out:

SCIENTISTS at Manchester University have developed a printer able to produce human skin to help wounds heal.

It could be used on patients who have suffered burns and disfigurements. With more research it could even replace broken bones.

Using the same principle as an ink-jet printer, experts are able to take skin cells from a patient’s body, multiply them, then print out a tailor-made strip of skin, ready to sew on to the body. The wound’s dimensions are entered into the printer to ensure a perfect fit…

My Favorite Word Yet

Thursday, January 20th, 2005 by Maryam Webster

My favorite word of the moment is "Yet". Erol kindly reminds me every so often when we speak and my speech inclines towards statements the like of "I’m trying to…(accomplish something)". Erol being the gentlemanly fellow he is replies with great and genuine concern "Trying? Why trying? Don’t you want to actually do the thing?" I mentally hit my forehead to knock my programming into a more productive groove, a maneuver courtesy of the sage Gary Craig.

Erol and Gary remind me of another great sage, Yoda, who said "Do or do not. There is no try."

Indeed.

So occasionally I goof and grumble to myself "I’m trying, I’m trying!" or "I’ve tried but I can’t" which are all negative self-talk beliefs that in NLP terms, have left an imprint or introject in my mind that created limiting beliefs. It’s no accident the above statements are the same made by my mother while I was young and impressionable. One usually takes imprints from the significant others in one’s life. But I have discovered a remedy that supports belief busting and changework using Quantum Flow Bioenergetic modalities like EFT or the NLP ellipsis and….the word "yet".

I wrote in Practical Use of the Power of Intention that I hadn’t found a way to knit bone and tissue and regrow my body…yet. Yet is one of those saving grace, wing-and-a-prayer, last-reprieve type of words. It hath the power to soothe the soul and turn away false thoughts, beliefs and imprints. It is a good medicine for people - especially busy, stressed, overwhelmed people.

Yet has the power to dissolve barriers and make immense resources available to you.

Give Yet a fair go in your life. You’ll see what new frontiers of possibility open up when you embrace the fact that such new frontiers & possibilities spring literally into existence at your bidding, coupled with your honest intent.

What talents don’t you have….yet?

How many things can’t you do…..yet?

How much time in your life do you not possess….yet?

What amazing feats of wonder haven’t you accomplished…yet?

Neutraceutical Supplements & Personal Empowerment

Wednesday, January 19th, 2005 by Maryam Webster

In a comment on my post about "Power of Intention" a kind correspondent wrote in about her experience of a particular neutraceutical supplement line. Since my reply was long and worth wider exposure, I thought I’d post the correspondence here:

Hi Maryam, I have a couple of thoughts for you regarding your back. Have you tried/heard of Standard Process supplements? They are a powerful line of supplements that promote healing in a variety of ways. A couple are indicated specifically for healing cavities in teeth; I’m sure there are some for healing bone and ligament…

Hi Loren, Thanks for the pointer. I’ve heard of Standard Process - I’ve had chiropracters prescribe them in the past. I don’t use Standard Process products though due to their inclusion in nearly all of the relevant products (Cardio Plus, Antronex, Calcifood, Betacol, Drenamin/Drenatrophin, Biost, Collagen C…etc.)  of animal tissues, specifically bovine (cow) and immature bovine (veal calf) heart, liver, endocrine, bone & connective tissues. Veal consumption is outside of my personal ethics and bovine organs are a potentially dangerous range of tissues to consume given the rise of Kreutzfeld-Jacobs (mad cow) and similar impurities, coupled with the inability of pharmaceutical/scientific industries to purify tissues at the prion level, where KJ hides.

After many years research in concert with nutritionists, chiropracters and my own repeated testing (that’s energy testing of my body as it changes) I have my own formulation of neutraceuticals that are right for me. I stress over and over again the great importance of each individual doing their own research into their particular disabling condition, and supplements, exercises and other interventions that have been proven to help. Personal research is empowering, helps you help your wellness team, and has the grand result of bettering your mental/emotional, spiritual and physical health.

Do the research in books by Ann Louise Gittleman. I use her Fat Flush material successfully and advocate the research she’s done. My health has improved amazingly with these nutritional recommendations. Ann Louise writes about what essential fatty acids and plant oils can do for weightloss, menopause and brain health. Julia Ross’s The Mood Cure is great for figuring out your genetically related nutritional deficits. The biologist Dr. Raymond Peat’s website is great for researching thyroid problems, nutrition no-no’s and women’s health. There are others. But do the research! Just because a medical professional tells you "this has worked a lot of people with your condition" doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for your unique personal condition - or it may work wonderfully well. Best thing is to know your own body’s needs and patterns before you pop that powder, pill or potion.

Doing the research and continually testing out the results in your own life will be the best thing you ever did for your health - I promise! And you’ll also have the satisfaction of having more power over your own healthcare than the average consumer. Being in tune with your body not just at your yearly checkup, but every single day, is the best present you can give yourself.

Warmest of Blessings, Maryam

P.S. Thanks for the chiropracter reference Loren, but I’m in the San Francisco Bay Area - a bit far away from South Carolina. Max sounds wonderful though - I’m so happy you found a good one! :-)
