Falling in Love with Water…

Friday, July 23rd, 2004 by Maryam Webster

Here’s a treat! A portion of a chapter from my forthcoming Quantum Flow Bioenergetics book

I have been falling in love with water for the past year and coming home to its incredible powers of healing, age-proofing, meditation and depth. Also for its pliability, programmability and how soft it makes my skin when I drink lots of it. More and more as I up my intake of pure water, interesting things are occuring within my biocircuit. I am increasingly able to think about a thing one moment and it literally appears the next. The time between observing that change is desirable and that change being implemented has shortened dramatically and since I’ve upped my intake of water, I’m not hungry at all. Dr. Batman [see below] says that most hunger pangs are really signals of thirst. With all this water on board, I’m very hydrated and very full, hence am eating less. I’m losing weight, my skin glows and I’ve not been sick since upping my intake of water. I feel lighter, cleaner and very, very calm. All in all, a grand and excellent thing.

A Japanese researcher, Dr. Masaru Emoto has been sending out some interesting observations about water in his “Messages From Water” books which interestingly corroborate the properties of water that spiritual practitioners have long worked with. The reviewer from Amazon’s website shares these perceptions:

“The Hidden Messages in Water is an eye-opening theory showing how water is deeply connected to people’s individual and collective consciousness. Drawing from his own research, scientific researcher, healer, and popular lecturer Dr. Masaru Emoto describes the ability of water to absorb, hold, and even retransmit human feelings and emotions. Using high-speed photography, he found that crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward it. Music, visual images, words written on paper, and photographs also have an impact on the crystal structure. Emoto theorizes that since water has the ability to receive a wide range of frequencies, it can also reflect the universe in this manner. He found that water from clear springs and water exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns, while polluted water and water exposed to negative thoughts forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors. Emoto believes that since people are 70 percent water, and the Earth is 70 percent water, we can heal our planet and ourselves by consciously expressing love and goodwill.”

This concurrs with current theory about energy therapies and is a perfect compliment to them. Folks have been charging water since Heck was a pup. Baptist and Mormon ministers as well as Shamanic practitioners in my family’s line, not to mention Wiccans, Druids and generic Pagans-down-the-block all do this. Water is commonly used as a sacred element in many rituals of healing and sacrament because from ancient times humans knew water had the ability to hold resonance. Spiritual masters of all traditions blessed water to be given to the sick. Since most illnesses have their roots in chronic dehydration, water’s ability to heal is not as much of a stretch as it might first appear. And if water were given the added imprint of loving, perfected energy, such as the Hado or “universal” frequency of perfection Dr. Emoto speaks of, such charged water would invite the fibers it hydrates to resonate at that same frequency, as it is absorbed. Reiki is one well-known energy therapy that taps into this universal harmonic, but all energy therapies do, whether they say so or not. I’m no scientist but it makes perfect sense to me. It’s sheer magic.

Water Magic
Here is a simple water charging magic that the women of my family use to purify our family’s drinking water. This is magic of the holiest sort. Be reverential and hold the water in your hands - you’re holding your family’s very health in your hands (and your own - you should be drinking your own product). How does this work? You are bringing your intent, or resonance into contact with the main constituent of your physical body, creating sympathetic resonance between both you and it until you both resonate at the Universal Perfection (UP) frequency. This is the magical part and what would magic be without an incantation? Here it is, incant with good cheer as you feel or visualise the container filling with pure white light:

“Pure and perfect creature of water,
I cast out all unclean within you
Let light and love dwell here within
With (Deity’s) hand upon it
So it is, blessed be it”

Or words to that effect. You can substitute your Deity of choice or not, as you wish. The point is to raise the vibration of the water if it’s polluted, passed through the hands of a negative person (becoming imprinted with negativity) or otherwise contaminated. The goal is to raise the energy frequency to water’s most perfect expression. You could also say that you’re trying to get water’s most basic and pure molecular format, or you could see it as raising water’s frequency to that of the mind of God/dess. Simple chants like this are a form of prayer that ask politely for the Divine to cast out any unclean spirits (or pollution, or negative thoughform impressions, etc.) and return the water to it’s original pure and perfect state. A simple matter, also easily accomplished with no chant or supplication, just the power of one’s focused Intent. Choose your tool, each will get the job done. And when you consume such positively and lovingly charged water, you will notice a wonderful boost of energy and a cleaner feeling to yourself. To get as near perfect as possible before we even get out of the gate, start with water that has already been purified. Advanced Mages will want to go even further and use a pure-sourced water such as Trinity or Evian. Recommendation: Do this little blessing at least once a day, if not more often. Repeat often, as desired and drink deep of health, purity and perfection.

How nice a thing it is to love your family so much that you want them to drink only the best, and that the essential elixir vitæ is both medicament and Wellness Aid Numero Uno. My grandmother Mimi served up water for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a huge blue Delftware pitcher replete with little Dutch boy and windmill. She had a way of brushing the pitcher with her hand before putting it on the table. Her lips would move in the briefest of blessings as she set the pitcher down, and always before the first grabby grandbaby (often me) clapped grubby paws to the drink. I still have that pitcher today and it still radiates the gentle loving my grandmother, then mother, and now myself, put into it. What a sacred treasure!

Speaking of water as a healing potion, an Iranian physician with the rather interesting name of “Dr Batman” has several wonderful books on the subject that quite enlightened me. Dr. Fereydoon Batmangelidj advocates moisture of the purest kind as a panacea - water, and only water as a restorative, antihistamine, anti-cancer agent and a direct counteractant to back pain and obesity. All of these topics caught my eye as I raced with wild abandon through his Water for Health, For Healing, For Life: You’re not Sick, You’re Thirsty! this month. Dr. Batmangelidj was a doctor in Tehran’s notorious Evin prison. Having little else, he began scientific experimentation and effected miraculous cures by giving copious quantities of water, and only water to his patients. His website speaks of this and of collusion between organized medicine and the drug companies to conceal this fact:

“It is chronic dehydration that causes the pains and degenerative diseases of the human body.” It is clinically and scientifically clear that the human body has many distinct ways of showing its general or local water needs. Depending on where there is water shortage, many localized complications such as asthma are produced. We believe this information has been methodically and fraudulently concealed until now. Over 18 years of research has now revealed a simple natural cure for so many painful and serious health problems. It is called “WATER CURE.”
- Dr. F. Batmangelidj

Isn’t that interesting? Please go check out his site and buy a book or two. Very enlightening, particularly combined with the theory about further charging the massive amount of water you NEED to take into your body every day (guess what? those “eight, eight ounce glasses” are just a starting point!) with the positive intent of whatever you need in your life right now. Wouldn’t that be an interesting thing to play with? Hmmm… I wonder what that would get me if I did it every day, as many times a day as I filled my glass, for the next year?

May You Never Thirst!

Does anyone reading this resonate with what I’m writing here? If so, please feel free to leave your thoughts in the comment box. How do you honor the sacred, purify your body and care for your health? I love methods that combine several good purposes like this. Feel free to post a tip for the rest of us!

What is the difference between Energy Coaching and Psychotherapy?

Saturday, July 10th, 2004 by Maryam Webster

One of the most frequent questions prospective students ask me is: “How do Energy Coaches make the delination between psychotherapy and doing energy therapy in coaching? Sometimes in Energy Coaching we deal with the past, but the definition that (our coaching school) gave us is that therapists deal with the past, Coaches with the present and future. How do we resolve this dichotomy in people’s minds when educating them on what we do?”

Here’s my answer, from The Certified Energy Coach Program manual. I hope this will be of help to our wonderful international community of Energy Coaches out there. Enjoy!

* Coaching Defined - If you are working on what blocks the client from achieving their goals, you are coaching. Because the emotional roots of the client’s blockage came into being sometime in their past, you may visit the past in your energy coaching with them. As long as you are working with a view towards meeting the client’s goals in the present and future and not straying into serious clinical issues (eg; severe depression, suicidal ideation etc.) you are doing coaching. You are not doing psychotherapy.

* The “No Past in Coaching Fallacy” - You can and will at some points have to visit the client’s past. You cannot talk about any portion of the client’s life without doing so at some point, for all of their today and future is rooted deeply and pervasively in what transpired in their past. It is also a saying in the coaching world that “even business and corporate coaching eventually comes down to personal coaching”. And what is personal, has a past. Lose this mis-definition of what coaching is and isn’t. Coaching is focus on the client’s highest goals and aspirations of both today and future and moreover, a focus on development of the client as distinct from those goals.

* Presenting Issues - The issues that the client presents in coaching are different and usually less severe than those which bring a client into therapy. You are not seeing a client because of a psychosis, pervasive depression or antisocial behavior. (and if you are, and are not a qualified therapist, you shouldn’t be) Energy Coaches keep the contact information of local and national mental health help-lines and therapists on file to refer clients to as necessary. We refer willingly and appropriately when asked, or when the situation in our estimation warrants that we not work with a particular client due to the presence of clinical symptoms. Typically, coaching clients do not present such clinical symptoms.

What brings client into coaching is typically low in distress value compared to what brings them into therapy. A client coming into coaching may be there because she hates cold calling, yet has to do it in the job she has, or a performance artist whose recording jitters are causing him to not finish a long-planned video of his work. While these may have emotional roots that are dealt with using bioenergetics methods, they are not the same as a client coming into a psychotherapist to deal with deep grief following a family death, or an anorexic teenager being helped to deal with the fact that she has lost a serious portion of her muscle mass and is in the hospital being fed intravenously. These are psychotherapeutic and psychiatric concerns. They tend to be much bigger, much more immediately distressing, occasionally life threatening and sometimes have medical components. They are Not coaching concerns.

* Levels of Function - Energy Coaches may be anyone from licensed social workers, psychotherapists, educators or bodyworkers and may work with clients exhibiting a range of difficulties. Each works according to their own main profession’s ethical standards and with that range of clients that best fits their skills, abilities and licensure. Given this, some Energy Coaches may choose to work with very highly functional heads of organizations while others work with startups and the unemployed. Some may work with extremely restorative clients who need a tremendous amount of attention, love and special care while others may wish to work only with those who are self-starters all the way. Bioenergetic work can be done with superb results at any level of function, as long as the client is able to follow a home study and application program. This is the lowest level at which we can actually be said to still be “coaching”. Below that would be a population much better suited for psychotherapy and psychiatry.

I hope this has been helpful in explaining this little-understood topic. You are welcome to repost this with attribution.

Many Blessings,
Maryam
